Gartnafuaran Farm lies on the outskirts of the village of Balquhidder at the foot of the southern slopes of the glen and a little beyond the eastern end of Loch Voil. Travelling along the the A84 Callander to Oban road take the turning into the glen at Kingshouse. By the village hall take the left turn and continue over the bridge, taking the left hand options at all times. Gartnafuaran Farm and Gartnafuaran Farm Holiday Cottage are on the right hand side of the lane. The cottage - formerly the dairy - is attached to the eastern end of the farmhouse (hidden from view by the flowering cherry tree in the photograph below.) The farm is approximately half a mile from the centre of Balquhidder. < The view from Gartnafuaran Farm towards Kirkton Glen |

The single track lane immediately in front of Gartnafuaran Farmhouse forms part of the National Cycleway (SUSTRANS), which runs between Callander and Killin in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. There are two mountain bike hire shops in Callander, and the cycle path runs from Callander to Balquhidder along a disused railway line by the side of Loch Lubnaig. We are surrounded by the hills, which is ideal for walkers. Loch Voil is just a few minutes walk from here (to the right of the photograph) and we really do have “views to die for”.
